This pandemic has taught us one very essential lesson which is, a healthy lifestyle is critically important for our sustenance on this planet. Even before Covid-19 hit us people were too busy to maintain a proper routine in their day-to-day life. Since the lockdown, schools and colleges are still closed and the compulsory work from home schedule has made our way of living languorous than before. Our sedentary lifestyle has become a portal for various kinds of diseases, and the children are equally vulnerable to it. But the solution to this problem lies within one of the greatest contributions of India to the world, that is the art of yoga!
The mention of the word ‘yoga’ in Rig Veda proves its ancient origin in our long cultural history. Many gurus like Adi Shankaracharya, Swami Vivekananda, etc., have popularised the art of yoga throughout their lives. As a result, today, yoga and meditation are considered as the new way of leading a healthy lifestyle throughout the world. Children all around the globe have hugely benefited from yoga as well. It not only impacts the functioning of the brain but also reduces mental diseases, increases energy and strength, and enhances concentration and memory. Moreover, introducing yoga at such a young age induces a sense of discipline which is very important for their overall growth and development.
Purnkuti through its Manosakha mission has always made sure that the children enrolled with the NGO not only get proper education but are also physically and mentally fit to take on the challenges in the world. Yoga is an intrinsic part of this program and even the parents are provided proper yoga classes from time to time. For the last 10 years, we have been sincerely dedicated to the cause and we are determined to in-built a healthy lifestyle in all our pupils!
