Youth Day

With respect to a great leader, monk and a philosopher, 12th January is celebrated as National Youth Day, also known as Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. A key figure in introducing primitive India to practices of Hinduism, Vedanta and Yoga, Swami Vivekananda also spread the word out in the Western world peaking various interests.

Speaking of National Youth day, why is there a day dedicated to the youth? Factually speaking, 22 percent of our nation comprises of Youths aged from 17-29. In fact, this very blog is being written by one. Us youths shape the future of the nation. Arguably most efficient form of human resource.

Highly motivate entering the adult life, us youth can bring the change a country needs or take it down with us if misguided. National Youth day is celebrated every year to motivate the youth of our country, to achieve success no matter how difficult the path be.
Various festivities are celebrated on this day in the form of a shared forum with respect to their cultural skills. And everything is arranged and achieved through coordination and promotion of the meetings of youth.

Swamiji quoted the following lines during one of his speeches trying to explain that nobody knows you better than yourself, you are your own teacher.

“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”
