A key figure in introducing primitive India to practices of Hinduism, Vedanta and Yoga, Swami Vivekananda also spread the word out in the Western world peaking various interests.

Swamiji quoted the following lines during one of his speeches trying to explain that nobody knows you better than yourself, you are your own teacher.
“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”
